Gold at World Series
Golden Finish to World Series
The FINA World Series came to a close last weekend, as the teams took their last chance to impress amongst the world’s diving elite, during the fourth and final leg in Tijuana, Mexico.
Tom entered the final leg of the 2012 competition with a glittering set of medals already secured from the earlier stages in Dubai, Beijing and Moscow.
The Mexican competition proved Tom’s finest performance, seeing him on top of the podium with a Gold medal after the 10m Platform individual event. Tom scored a personal best of 562.85 points in the competition, putting him a full 20 points ahead of USA’s David Boudia with the Silver.
Tom and Pete’s performance in the 10m Platform Synchro competition brought yet another medal to Tom’s World Series collection, bringing his final total to an impressive 6 medals. The pair performed well in the synchro and came away with 446.88 points and the Bronze medal.
Tom’s GBR team mates also had a great competition in Mexico. Sarah Barrow and Tonia Couch (one of Tom’s Plymouth training partners) won the Bronze in their 10m Platform Sychro competition and the 3m Springboard Synchro saw Christopher Mears and Nicholas Robinson-Baker come away with Silver.
Go GBR!
